When
Vittoria was 13 years old she was tending to the fields when a piece of
shrapnel went straight past her and into an oak tree. At the end of that
day she felt unwell. By the morning she was unable to get up and remained
this way for 9 months. She had experienced shell shock. She was then cured
using Herbal medicine by Frenc tal Gharb |

Vittoria self taught herself how to speak English and read English and write.
She is now proficient in reading and speaking English. |

Has gone to TAFE and obtained a certificate in sewing from Blacktown technical
college |

Vittoria also taught herself how to sew, knit and has been going to knitting
classes for the last 20 years?. |

She has made several cardigans, jumpers, vests and baby's clothes for the
family - especially her family in London who really appreciate the hats,
jumpers etc |

Worked in the fields with her father from the age of 10 years old |

Married Giuseppe Teuma on 1st January 1947 at Xaghra Church. Vittoria was 22,

Father took Vittoria to the Malta in January (cold month) to see the opera
Santa Lucia in the Malta Opera House and he bought her a new coat to wear.

Vittoria's mother Mary Ann Attard died when she was 42 years old, from an
operation in 1940, during WWII. Vittoria was only 14 years old

Vittoria's father died of a heart attack when she was just married in 1949,
she was 23 years old |

Vittoria and her older sister Jane (Gunna) raised the rest of the family |

At the time the eldest Rosa was married for 3 months
